DEPUTY MARSHAL SHOT

 July 14, 1893—Dallas Morning NewsFort Gibson, I. T.—Henry Whiteman, a Negro Deputy United States Marshal from Fort Smith, was shot and mortally wounded today twelve miles west of Waggoner by another Negro, whom he was trying to arrest for larceny.

SHOT AND KILLED

 

February 8, 1896—Dallas Morning News—Paris, Texas—The federal officials this morning received notice of the death of Deputy marshal Ed Thurlo, who was shot on last Wednesday in the Indian Territory while in the discharge f his official duty.

 

Bud Hill & J. Boley Grady DUSM

DEPUTY MARSHALS KILLED 

July 19, 1898Dallas Morning News—Hartshorne, I. T. Bud Hill, office deputy United States marshal of the United States court at Cameron, I. T. and J. Boley Grady, late deputy marshal, but who was acting as posseman to Hill, were killed yesterday afternoon by a man whose son they had a warrant of arrest for and the man escaped.  The killing occurred at Jenson, Arkansas, which is on the dividing line between the Indian Territory and Arkansas.  Bole y Grady was the eldest son of Captain J. P. Grady, the present United States Marshal for this second division of the United States court.
