George Shenold
George Roy Shenold, 91, Jennings, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001.

 

            Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lawson Cemetery in Yale. Rev. Mike Clark will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home. 

            Shenold was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Quay to Notsee Shenold and Mable Mae (Charlton) Shenold. He married Stella Mae (Sneed) Shenold Jan. 1, 1939, in Hallett. To this marriage, Shenold had three sons, Melvin Edward Shenold, Dale Roy Shenold and Thomas Keith Shenold. He later married Floy K. (Reese) Shenold Aug. 30, 1987, in Stillwater. Shenold was a lifetime resident of Pawnee County. He was a Hallett Baptist Church and a Mason. Shenold was a widely known coyote hunter and dog breeder. He had the National Champion July at one time and had judged the National July Hunt. He served as Pawnee County Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff for many years. He was a farmer and rancher all his life and loved the horse and cattle business.

            He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vina Adkison; brother, Melvin Shenold; and a grandson Chism Keith Shenold.

            Shenold is survived by his first wife, Stella Shenold, Jennings; second wife, Floy Shenold, Jennings; three sons, Dale Shenold and wife Judy, Yale; Tom Shenold and wife Robbie, Stillwater; Melvin Shenold, Hallett; two step-sons, Jerry Wilson and wife Darlene, Stillwater; Johnny Wilson and wife Judy, Enid; step-daughter, Kay Trivitt; brother, Oran Ray Shenold, Glencoe, plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

            Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 2865 E. Skelly Drive, Suite 100-S, Tulsa, OK 74105-6200.
